How much do you pay for life insurance

How much do you pay for life insurance, mortgage protection, critical illness and family income protection plan?

I've had a call to check our circumstances are still the same for the policy. They've said with a few changes the above would be around £51.

Without the family income protection it would be £44 per month.

I get so confused with all of this stuff, someone please help me. Does this seem reasonable or wildly expensive? Thank you

I don't pay anything. I'm covered for life insurance through my work and have always preferred to invest my money so I can get something back while I'm alive and able to enjoy it.

It depends how much cover you’re getting OP ie what it will pay out in the event of your death, illness etc. You could go on moneysupermarket to get quotes for the same levels as a comparison.

Everyone’s needs and circumstances are different so it’s hard to answer you.

For example, I’m early 60s and pay £42 per month for £100k of life cover. On my death this would pay out immediately, straight to my DC, so they could pay about half of the IHT due on my estate and get probate. It’s a fixed premium which they can’t put up if I become ill.
