I went to visit a friend this evening to deliver a pressy for her DS. Parked up, gave pressy had lovely brew then drove home. She lives about 3 miles away.
She rang me to ask me if i had backed into another car when driving off. Definitely not says i, go and check your car says she.....
Nothing, not a mark. Ok she says sorry to bother you.
Phone rings again, can you check your lights on your car says she, a neighbours car has been hit and there are bits of a light fitting all over....checked again, clean as a whistle...nothing. Ok says she, thanks any way.
Phone rings again, can you come back and show the neighbour your car, he doesnt believe you!!!!!
SO, drove all the way back to show this man my car. He was very nice, very appologetic and grateful to me for coming out.
Would you have gone back, would you be annoyed and what would you have done?

yes I would have been really annoyed (and got over it) but you've done your friend a big favour by returning as it could of caused alot of ill feeling with her neighbour if he thought it was you who had done it!

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 23/12/2004 21:56

I wouldn't have gone back if it was inconvenient.

PaRumPumPumScum · 23/12/2004 21:57

Agree with makealist. Really good of you to go back. Bet the neighbour was a tad embarrassed.

Donbean · 23/12/2004 21:58

Hadnt thought about causing ill feeling with neighbour, i wouldnt want to do that as friends havent lived there for very long.
It wasnt exsactly convenient, (it got me out of finishing the ironing!) but i was cross at not bieng believed IYSWIM.

I would have gone back but I've had had a right go at the neighbour.

pixiefish · 23/12/2004 22:09

think i'd have invited the neighbour over to yours to inspect the car

tillykins · 24/12/2004 13:49

Yes I agree with Cranberry Jampot. And when he'd seen you hadn't damaged his car, he could have finished your ironing
