Southern electric wont let me go!

ANY advice really appreciated,
Ive been trying to switch back to British gas after being with southern electric for a whole year, leaving us financially wiped out.

I called BG in august asking them to take over but every time they try, they keep saying that there is an error with my address and the process remains incomplete. So i reapply every month. Ive wasted huge amounts of money calling both companies.
Each month, someone new from each company reassures me that it is DEFINATELY going ahead this month.
It never does.

What i want to know is this: what will happen if I call southern electric and tell them Im moving, to my parents address and close my account with them? THEN try to set up an account with BG...

Will they cut off my electricity supply? (Im at home most of time with 2yr old and 3month old)

thankyou

No. I don't think they do. I've never moved into anywhere and had to have the electric reconnected. If you close your account though, the new occupant (ok that's still you!) will still be with them and would need to switch over iyswim. So you might find that you go through all that and then they still carry on doing this!
I'd write to them or complain to the reglatory - i just spelled that wrong, didn't I?? - body. I think they are just trying to stop you switching.
OR it could be BG cocking up - I just switched from them because they are tosspots! Why not try switching to a different company? That way you'll know whether BG is being incompetent, or SE are blocking you. You can always go on to switch to BG after that.
