the Tax Credits website, or Entitled to??

Because they're giving me wildly different estimates LOL

are you applying for incom support, FAQ?

With 3 children, I think you will get £40 pw each. Roughly ... so £120 Tax credits, £40 odd child benefit and £60 of Income support.

FAQ · 19/03/2008 00:32

yes applying for IS - the figures you've given are roughly what the entitled to website said...

Tax Credits website told me I'd get (roughly) £6.21 a week (total).......

People I've spoken to do seem to get about £40 pw per child. I get about £80 - two kids.

Scary, isn't it?

I was in your position last year, and it is frightening. You will soon be used to it, you will relish having the bed to yourself, and you will enjoy being able to only consider yourself and your boys in your plans.

TheAntiFlounce · 19/03/2008 00:34

odd ... let me see what they say to me.

FAQ · 19/03/2008 00:35

no - the £40pw isn't too scary - that's ok - it was the TC website figure that was scaring me

davidtennantsmistress · 19/03/2008 00:38

for one child I get £45 p/w so you should get about that I think - something or other about it being the child element of the old IS or soemthing? I dunno but basically instead of it all being paid by one lot (ie IS) TC also do a bit as well now. same amount of money thou.

TheAntiFlounce · 19/03/2008 00:38

The tax credit website says I would get £208 - no timescale though

It's crap. Entitledto is nearly always right.

FAQ · 19/03/2008 00:40

thanks - I suspected that the TC was well out - just put the figures in that H and I gave them last year.........and it told me £52 (again no timescale) - well we've been getting £28 a month and that was with a big reduction as they overpaid us the previous year.

OP posts:
TheAntiFlounce · 19/03/2008 00:40

they did it to stop people noticing the benefit bill rocketing - they shifted it all from DWP to the IR - so the DWP outgoings have gone down, because now they only pay for the adults, but WHOOOEEEEE have the tax credits bills gone up!

shelleylou · 19/03/2008 00:41

i get £47.21 ctc for 1 child.

FAQ · 19/03/2008 00:42

is that a week shelley??

OP posts:
shelleylou · 19/03/2008 00:43

ye it is, think its that amount cos im on IS.

davidtennantsmistress · 19/03/2008 00:43

thought that was prob it af - also means they get to employ more people to cock up I mean work on the systems.

to be fair thou when I claimed I had it all sorted out IS & TC within 14 working days. and they did back date it all for me. so that's a plus.

FAQ · 19/03/2008 00:44

Thanks everyone

actually just had another look on the TC website and saw

"This is the amount your household may be entitled to from 19/03/2008 until 05/04/2008. This result is only an estimate and is based on the information provided assuming you make the claim on 19/03/2008. This means the amount shown may not be your entitlement for the full year"

Entitled to site is usually correct for tax credits but out on housing benefit and council tax as way over estimates as its an average of all councils etc.
