How much is your Sky subscription?

Our subscription is up in April.

We currently pay £84.50 per month for sky Q, multi room and internet plus Netflix.

I want to try and get this down, but do not wish to leave Sky. Our only alternative in this area is BT and we tried them once and were useless.

We have to have multi room as we spend most of our time in our extension, with the main tv in the lounge.

We don’t have films or sports, but if I could get one or both included would be nice extra.

How much do you pay currently, and what do you get for it?

£53 which includes sky q, kids, Netflix and ultrafast broadband.

£65.85, we don’t have multi room but do have Sky Cinema and we have the fastest broadband package plus boost. Got it down by over £20 last time I renewed my subscription - I didn’t negotiate hard or even threaten to leave, I just called and asked what they could do to make it more affordable. This was July 2023 - I see others are saying they’re hard to haggle with so maybe it’s changed or I just got lucky with who I spoke to!

I upgraded to Sky Q from Sky+HD a year ago and I'm really glad I did. I love Sky Q!! And I love having the mini box and not needing any cables etc for it to be multi-room.

My main reason for the upgrade was that because I have a communal satellite dish (I live in a gated development), the wiring only allowed me to watch OR record with Sky+HD (seriously!! very 1980s!). So if I was watching something 'live', I couldn't record on another channel at the same time. But Sky Q only needs one cable/wire so having Sky Q means I can watch whatever I want while recording multiple other things (like a normal person lol).

Sky Q is so user friendly. I love having all the apps accessible via the Sky front end (so Netflix, Amazon Prime, Paramount+, Apple TV etc) and the mini box is fabulous. It feels light years ahead of Sky=HD. The memory on the box is much bigger too so you can record loads without worrying about running out of space.

I kept my old Sky+HD in case I decide to leave Sky at some point and have to hand the Sky Q box back. Previously I also used Now TV for a while as I cheaper alternative to Sky for the sports channels and that was good but I couldn't record which was a pain if I was travelling. Even my 80 year old father is happy with Sky Q (and he's not happy about much usually ha!)

Thanks everyone - really interesting to see what everyone is paying.

Inspired by this thread, I’ve just added Virgin Mega 360 to my Virgin broadband and phone (which was £24 per month on an 18 month deal that was ending) - now £34 per month all in. I’ll be cancelling SkyQ which on its own was costing £34. So, thank you MN!

I tried the call Sky to say I'm leaving and see what they say/offer line and all they said was "sorry to want to leave" and closed my account Hmm. Was a bit miffed at the time but now I'm so glad. Was paying £90pm. I now have a Roku stick which I love. Pay for the streaming platforms that I want (NowTV, Netflix and Disney which comes to £31.97pm). I also have Amazon Prime and Paramount X which I pay yearly and they are £95 and £69.99 respectively. Thankfully gone are the days of paying/wasting money on anything sports related Grin.

Sky keep emailing and calling to say come back but I just ignore.

I pay £59 for sky q and broadband
Includes movies and kids channels

my contract is up end of next month and I’ve given notice to cancel. I just want a basic package now and the best they could do is £47. I’ll be switching to Virgin media who have offered me 190 channels basic package and broadband for £36 which I’m happy with
