Just Eat rip off! ££ loss!

Awful cust. service from #JustEat. Two Asda Xmas food orders, both with missing items totalling £50. Just Eat refuse to refund or credit £20 from the first order, because they claim it was over 24hrs between delivery and complaint. The 1st delivery was on a Weds, 2nd on the Fri?! I’m left with £30 acct credit (nowhere to be found!?) & £20 loss.
I explained I was in hosp on Weds & my daughter had accepted the delivery, unaware that anything was missing. Doesn’t matter, complained on Friday about both deliveries, too late apparently for Weds order?! WTF?!!!

Asda on just eat are absolutely notoriously awful and wouldn't ever recommend using them again.

We've had 2 bad experiences and just tend to stick to Morrisons on prime for urgent deliveries etc.

Just Eat are total shite. We had a disgusting meal delivered, £30 of food straight in the bin it was inedible, they refunded me £10. I deleted their app and won't use them again.

@MiIIieee

Just eat are not responsible for cooking food, just the website facilitating the restaurants (I think they have drivers in certain places now but not here, the restaurant delivers it)

Of course they don't cook it, but they should have refunded it since it was them we paid for the meal.

And that money goes to the restaurant with a fee going to just eat. The restaurant weren't cooking your food for free.

Why shouldn't we have got a full refund for an entire order that was inedible, and all went in the bin? Feedback after feedback since then all saying the same so only a matter of time before that particular restaurant is removed from Just Eat. Why should that have cost me £20? Just curious.

Just Eat is a mug's game.

We realised that they add about 25% to the menu prices of the restaurants round here and that's before the delivery and service charges.

No idea why people use it.

MintJulia · 02/01/2024 02:12

@MiIIieee You chose the restaurant food that you wanted Just Eat to deliver.

Would you claim a refund off the Post Office if the postman delivered mail order clothes you didn't like?

Because its convenient.

Prices around here are just the same as if you ordered it direct from the restaurants so it sounds like that's the restaurants around you that are marking up the prices. Probably to cover the JE fee

I would claim the refund from whoever I paid. The restaurants won't deal with you directly you have to go through Just Eat. And it certainly wasn't just about not liking the food. Had plenty of meals we have not liked and never asked for a refund. This was shit in a tray that immediately was binned, with photos to prove how bad it was.

You claim a refund from whoever YOU paid, a very basic part of online shopping surely...

OP, start paying via PayPal. Very easy to claim back for things like this.

We did a like for like comparison when we ordered from our local curry house.
i did the order through JE on my iPad, OH did it through the takeaways own ordering facility. The prices for each item were different but the final cost was within 50p of each other.
the only other difference was that with a JE order you don’t get free popadoms.

Finally found my acct credit, doesn't show until the page where you enter Debit card details and you can't use acct credit if you're paying by PayPal, the credit disappears. Still have not received the other £20 that they owe & won't because they claim I complained 24hrs after delivery; I checked, it was within 24hrs, but they disagree. Once I've used my credit, I'll stick to Uber Eats, where you get your refund straight away, or Deliveroo, where I can actually talk to a person in cust. services!
