Car insurance - any recommendations

It's gone up again from 800 to 1200. I'm furious.

Any recommendations? Has everyone else's gone up? This should be taken into public ownership. It's a #%>^^€€ disgrace.

Increases are the order of the day for reasons that have been discussed passim but 50% is a lot.

Any recent claims? Is the car expensive, luxury or otherwise an enhanced risk?

Try the comparison sites, Direct Line and a broker.

Use a comparison site like compare the market to see what each company will offer. It means you only have to fill your details in once and you can see the excess etc.

I think that car insurance has gone up, I believe Martin Lewis said there is a sweet spot for getting quote and is was around 21 days before your car insurance is due.

DS has just had his renewal quote, gone up by over £400 to £972, 22 years old, works, 4 years ncd, this quote is actually more than he was paying when he first passed his test,

Actually increases this year of up to 61% are normal without people having accidents or doing anything else, plus their car being a year older.

My insurance increased by 41%. It was with my current insurer and the cheapest quote I got.

Brexit Britain is Ripoff Britain. Never mind immigrants crack down on insurance companies. They are profiteering and stealing our wages from us.

Recomendation: join something like topcashback. Look at what comparison site they have on there currently. Link through and fill in the details. See what comes back.
Worst case: you know 1200 is about right to insure you/your car.
Best case: reduced insurance plus cashback for you - typically £25 for us.

They're really not. Insurance companies aren't making money out of car insurance at the moment. The cost of repairs and parts have increased massively because of Brexit, Covid and the Ukraine war.

Use a comparison site as others have said.

@Floofydawg look at their profits. They are soaring.

With all due respect, you're talking rubbish. I know what I'm talking about.
