It's early and I'm rubbish at maths, so please help!

If I earn 23,800 for working 39.5 weeks, how much is my salary if I worked all year round?

Thank you.

52/39.5 X 23,800 = 31,00

CatchHimDerry · 08/12/2023 05:23

£31,331 / £602.52 a week

adventadvent · 08/12/2023 05:23

I got £31k
Divide the 23800 by 39.5, gives the weekly wage, then times that by 52

Scaredycat23 · 08/12/2023 05:53

Thank you! That's what I did, but it seems too much!!!

How are you accounting for holidays?
If that's 39.5 full weeks worked, and a whole-year salary is based on 46 weeks work plus 6 weeks time off (including bank holidays), then the FTE salary would be 28.3k

PosiePerkinPootleFlump · 08/12/2023 06:05

It might depend on your entitlement to holidays. Does your 39 weeks include holiday entitlement - ie you take 39/52 x number of days a person doing 52 weeks would take? Or are your holidays the other weeks of the year?

As someone working 52 weeks would be entitled to say 4 weeks annual leave plus bank hols, and an adjustment when you calculate fte is made for this

Scaredycat23 · 08/12/2023 06:20

It's TTO so holiday is included. I think the 28 figure is probably right. Thank you.

If it’s term time only it has to be more than 39.5 as that only allows for 1.5 was holiday assuming term time is 38 wks.

Scaredycat23 · 08/12/2023 07:30

I'm confused!

How many weeks of actual work plus how many weeks of annual leave?

SqueakingSnapfish · 08/12/2023 07:43

My husband works term time plus 10 days, then is paid for 5.6 weeks holiday so he his paid for 46.6 weeks. So if you got the same holiday as him your calculation would be;
23,800 ÷44.6 x 52 = 27, 748
You need to see how many weeks holiday you are paid for to get an accurate answer.

Scaredycat23 · 08/12/2023 07:49

@SqueakingSnapfish this will be it! Thank you!

you need to ask the HR dept what holiday entitlement you get
