I've been forced to sell my home by the ex so that he gets his equity back. I've taken my time to agree as I've been waiting a social house to come up for us. One has and we have been offered it!
But they have given me 3 weeks to get the keys. Handover date middle December.
So now I need to work out what the heck I'm going to do about paying the mortgage on one home and rent on another until the house is sold.
Barclays said they offer a 6 month interest only agreement without affecting credit file. They also will look to make payment arrangement with income and expenditure assessment. So I will call them and do that tomorrow.
But I am panicking about it all. And to top it off the narc ex is now annoyed at me because I have agreed to sell it, despite him demanding I sell for the last 3yrs nearly.
I cannot win but I know slowly I am, as I am slowly removing all ties to him.
But I wanted to see what others did in my situation and what my rights are.
