Newly self employed- 30 hours free childcare

Hi,
My daughter is about to turn 3 so I need to sort out our funded childcare hours. My husband works full time and I have recently set-up an Etsy business as self-employed. From my understanding we should still qualify for the 30 hours as I believe newly self employed people don't need to meet the earnings threshold for the first 12 months. Please can anyone confirm that this is correct?? Obviously I want my business to be a big success but it's not guaranteed!

@Stargazer86 Have you got to the bottom of this? I have recently started a new business and left full-time employment at the start of Jan. I did my reconfirmation in the gov childcare account and put in my new status etc and last week I got messages saying that they are unable to confirm my employment status and that I need to send in proof of income etc and our free hours have been stopped. I'm wondering what "If you’re self-employed and started your business less than 12 months ago, you can earn less and still be eligible for Tax-Free Childcare." means? Any help would be appreciated.

@SamuelM Have you registered as self employed with HMRC? If you're newly self employed you have 12 months where you don't need to earn the earning threshold but you still get the 30 free hours.
