Need some advice on what the best credit card is to get?
how does it work? Do I have to pay off within the month?
what does balance transfer mean?

is cashback better or avios points?

any and all help and advice would be very appreciated x

Having credit increases your credit rating if you are responsible.
If you don’t clear the balance in full each month, you will be charged interest, the rates can vary but are often very high.
Balance transfer is transferring a balance from one credit card to another, usually for a better rate.
There are loads of cards to choose from. The moneysupermarket type websites can give pros and cons of the different cards. Some cards offer a certain number of reward points as a joining bonus. You can have cards associated with benefits which are useful to you. We do international flights frequently due to DC’s now living in Europe and DH and i in Canada. We have cards with the major airlines so we can use the points for flight upgrades.

I've got a dd set up on mine so balance gets paid off in full each month.

Be careful with it! It's easy to go over.

I signed up with Experian and they showed me which cards were pre-approved so I applied for my one.
