Just wanted to see if anyone has any advice really.. yesterday had a weird phone call from a withheld number, was a man saying I was selling something, I told him I wasn't then he said I'll come round at 5 I repeated I wasn't selling anything then he gave me the address I lived at 3 years ago! I asked where he got my number from and he said google .. was weird he was quite menacing. Then today someone has tried to change passwords on my Facebook account and my Argos card. I can't think of anyone that I've upset and I moved from the address he gave me 3 years ago but he knows my name and phone number. What should I do ?

Sign up to the credit reference agency ‘check my file’ to get your credit reports. Sign up for CIFAS too. It’s the way of the world now unfortunately.

Yes I have my credit file and nothing recent on there, I'm just so confused how would they even know about the Argos card I not used it for ages and it's clear so no bills or anything could have been seen. Thank you though I've added Norton life protect on everything now 😂

Lots of company data breaches and details on the dark net. They pounced on my 18 year old son as soon as he turned 18 and I just about got there on time before he handed over more details over the phone. His debit card was cloned. Just be vigilant and if any errors on your credit file deal with it straight away. Keep an eye on your NI Gov Gateway too. Just be on top of all your data so if anything suspicious you can deal with it asap.

Yes the Norton life protect found my details on dark web .. but that was from 2020, didn't even think about NI I'll look into that thank you
