Anyone bought a stolen/recovered car?

There's a hybrid with higher spec on auction ending tomorrow & I think I'm going to bid. Have done an hpi report - it's clean & it has minimal damage. Friend who works in car damage estimates thinks it's worth a punt. I've never bought this way before so
Am cautious & looking other feedback.

We 'd probably drive the car until it dies so resale not much of a concern.

Many thanks for any advice!

Following with interest as I saw one for sale yesterday which I liked the look of!

As long as there is no finance outstanding, crash damage etc that a car vertical / hpi check would show up you should be fine.

Did you get it?

Thanks - sadly it went for £5k more than I'd hoped, which would be another £1.5-£2k with fees & then we'd need to arrange transport.

But now we're quite taken with this car. It's a higher spec model that is a bit harder to find. I would defo risk going for a stolen/recovered or cat N in future though. Particularly if I had a decent garage that I knew could fix damage.

Good luck
