Would that not be covered by your own home insurance?

What does your policy schedule say? Or as poster above says, what does your home contents insurance schedule says?

Often home contents covers thing like iPads away from home. But depends on the policy

Think about what you want and then check the policy details.

In my mind travel insurance is primarily for if I'm ill and need treatment abroad or need to be repatriated (alive or dead). Secondarily it should cover replacement travel/hotel etc stuff if there's a mess up that the airline is not obliged to deal with - see UK ATC the other week.

My clothes and possessions, including laptop, tablet etc are covered worldwide under my house etc insurance.

More likely your home contents than your travel insurance, but all policies are different so you need to check yours.

Who knows? Since we have no idea what travel or home insurance you have and what it covers and what it doesn't.

Generally the level of cover will be linked to how much you pay. If you say £8 for a weeks travel insurance I wouldn't expect it to cover much at all, if its £80 a week then it may cover accidental damage / loss etc.

When ds went to Greece this year the travel insurance policy had an option to add on gadget cover for accidents/theft.

It depends which policy you have purchased .
