Phishing scam - caller claimed to be Amex Fraud team

Just wanted to draw attention to a phishing scam I experienced today and very nearly fell for, despite usually being quite savvy to these things.
It was from a no caller ID number and the caller claimed to be from American Express drawing my attention to a fraudulent transaction. They knew my card number and even my address, and seemed very legit until they asked me to confirm a verification code and alarm bells rang. I said I would call them back on the number on the back of the card and they said no and that it wouldn't get through to them. I immediately called Amex who confirmed it wasn't them and blocked my card.

Beware! Im sure that guy is making a killing as he seemed to speak all the lingo.
