Buying coins at the royal mint

Does anyone invest in this manner? I'm reading up on it and it's seeming quite positive. Looking for real life experiences please.

I have bought in 2009 gold coins bullionbypost is the website I used it used to be around 250 pounds for one sovereign but now it is double that so can’t afford !
