Universal credit as a couple/ tenancy

Do you always have to evidence a tenancy agreement with both names on for a UC couples claim?
Have not yet been added to partners agreement as lettings agency asking for £250. I'm assuming UC will ask for the tenancy agreement for proof of rent but do they check you are both on it?
Switching from single person claim to couples with a child under 1 yrs too.

😊 TIA

The tenancy should be OK. Which is not the same thing as saying it won't throw up a problem.

Just produce the agreement explaining that you both occupy.

If there's an issue come back with exactly why you've been told there's an issue - only paying half used to be a trick - and then we can tell you why they're wrong!!
