British Gas outstanding credit?

I closed my account last week and was owed £664 credit. They said it would take 5-7 working days to be paid and today is day 9 and the balance is now showing as 0 but nothing is in my account still. It's Nationwide (newish account) and I can't see pending - I suppose it could be that. Anyone got an experience of this? I will have to bloody ring them tomorrow from work - 9-5 opening hours only 😡.

Are you absolutely sure about the 5-7 days?
6 weeks is industry standard for credit balance return on closing an account - 4 weeks for a final bill, and a further 2 weeks for the credit to hit your account.
Or at least that's what it was when we moved last year.

Maybe they sent it as a cheque. You’re going to have to ring. If they have sent a cheque, ask them to cancel it and do the refund direct into your bank account.

I'm with British Gas and just had a credit refund. On the British Gas app it shows that the refund was made on 5th June but it didn't show in my bank account until 8th June.
