Credit Check for new tenancy

I've had some money issues recently and have missed some payments on credit cards and a bank loan. I'm getting on top of that, but in the meantime am looking to move house closer to my daughter's school. However, I'm aware credit checks are undertaken when going through a letting agent. My credit score is poor: currently 564.

Does anyone know if this will mean I will likely be refused a tenancy with this score? I have no previous bad debt history, no CCJs are bankruptcies or anything.

Hello. I'm no expert but I did recently ask a lettings company about this and they told me that they looked for a score of 500 or above. Obviously just one company....

Thank you, that is helpful. Gives me some hope!

It isn't just credit score btw, it's affordability also.
