Housing Benefit Full Case Review FCR

Hi i received a letter today from my local Housing Benefit office saying I'm required to fill out an online housing Benefit Review form. I've had no recent changes in circumstances so was wondering why I received this? Has anyone else had one of these or know what they're about?

Hi I’m a HB officer. We’ve been doing reviews for about 6 months (can’t do them all at once so there went out in batches)

It’s a requirement from the DWP that councils review a % of the HB case load.

It’s a random check nothing to do with your circumstances.

Ah thank you I was a bit surprised by the intimidating looking letter! What is the usual turnaround to get the new review competed?

I filled out the details and submitted the online form Wednesday.

@Ansell I would say around 10 working days but it depends on the workload of the council you claim from.

If you have had no changes you’ll get a letter basically saying thank you for completing the review. There has been no changes to your claim. If you have any changes in the future please advise us etc etc.

If they need anything they’ll contact you pretty quickly so I wouldn’t worry.

hi can i ask for advice i recenly.moved into hostel( supported accomodation) and been here for like 8 weeks and my first payment of hb went to my lanslord only 3 weeks ago ,will i get hb review when you are new claimant when my first payment was only released 3 weeks ago or will it happen after 6months

Hi I don’t exactly know how to use this as I’m dyslexic, and not up to date with technology I received a housing benefit and council tax letter review form few days ago, I was wondering if I was selected at random or they doing checks on me, it’s really stressing me out why I suddenly received this letter.and in my letter mentions if anything has changed we may need a proof of bank statements, but nothing has changed in my circumstances,or if I have any savings more than 5500 , so do I still need to provide bank statements if nothing has changed or no ? I really appreciate it if u guys reply and put my mind at ease thanks
