I’ve received 2 forms to fill in from a very large financial company regarding accessing my late parents money.

As having LPA prior to their passing and also being executor of the will, I have dealt with them on numerous occasions and always found them difficult and antiquated.

I now have probate and will shortly open an executor’s account together with my sibling in order to deal with the finances and distribute the monies in accordance with my parent’s wishes.

However, the forms are absolute gobbledygook and I honestly haven’t a clue what to do.

I have given them to my sibling to see if he can decipher what we need to do next.

The financial company doesn’t have branches so I can’t physically go in and ask and when Ive phoned in the past, theyve been less than helpful.

All I want to do is transfer the money into the new account but I fear Im not qualified enough to attempt it 🤦‍♀️

What do you do in this situation 🤷🏼‍♀️🥺

Sorry for your loss @Borntobeamum You are not stupid! Financial admin can be stressful at the best of times, let alone when you are recently bereaved. I have heard it called 'deadmin' all the form filling you have to do after someone dies.

Is there someone else you can ask for help? Do you have a friend or relative who is good at this kind of thing? I work in the public sector, am used to dealing with bureaucracy and would be happy to help a friend who was struggling.

What's the name of the company, maybe someone who works for them or has been through the same thing can help you if they see this

Regarding the bank account there are very few banks that offer that sort of account I just got a basic current account to put all proceeds in.
I too had forms that I wasn't sure about I'd fill them in and they weren't right they'd get sent back.
Most companies have a dedicated bereavement team to help,

The company that holds the money is the Prudential.

we have an appointment at the bank to open an executors account on Wednesday followed by seeing the solicitor.

I have probate but ive had such a distressing time with The Pru when i tried to access mums money to pay for her xare home. At the time I had LPA and had supplied the pru with every minute detail they requested but I seemed ti meet brick walks constantly.

The money has been left to me and my sibling. Im not asking for a loan or a mortgage. Its my money now, but they are such a nightmare to deal with.

Post on Trustpilot if you are having problems. They might well answer or write to the Chairperson or Tweet?

You could ask for interest, say 5%, if they have delayed the payout unecessarily.

OMG I just read the reviews on Trustpilot. I'm not sure i've ever seen such a low score and terrible comments. You are not alone it seems.
