I have to go to court!

I have to go to a fines review at the local magistrates court and I'm terrified.

I have a fine for my partners old van that he sold a year ago. He claims the paperwork was signed and processed at the time of sale but it seems this didn't happen for some reason. It was registered in my name stupidly so I've had to take the hit for it being untaxed although it was a write off as far as we were concerned with engine issues. I haven't been able to get in touch with the person he sold it to but I doubt that will make much difference anyway now.

I had a repayment plan that I couldn't stick to due to really limited finances over the last 6 months +. The only thing they can do is get me an appointment at court to discuss it.

Can anyone tell me what usually happens in cases like these? I have my I&E from stepchange that I can print, will I need bank statements etc?
