I’ve collected a few over the years; Paddington Bear, Peter Rabbit etc…

im aware you can sell on eBay but was wondering if anyone has sold to a company who buys coins.

thanks

I've sold (and bought) a few coins on ebay, but you have to have rarer ones to make it worthwhile.

I was able to sell a rare Olympic one for about £4 and another for £2 but most aren't going to get much more than 50p.

Thanks @snowlaser that’s very helpful to know. I did have a look at eBay and there were so many for sale.

Mine are not that rare. Maybe I’ll just hang onto them a while longer.

I sold an original Kew gardens 50p for over £100 on eBay a couple of years ago.

I've been collecting too, I think the condition is important and generally coins in circulation don't fetch much.

I'm following as DH "collects" coins - as in he chucks them in a box and refuses to spend them because "they might be worth loads of money". I find it ridiculous, and would rather spend milk at the local shop if we run out.

*spend the coins on milk

Kew gardens is the rare one, i have kept the rabbit ones as we used to keep rabbits and i like the designs....i did sell an old victorian coin on ebay once and made £188....tiny little coin....nearly chucked it to charity shop but did some research on the box of coins first.
