When they take the payment and you've made payments towards it before the due date, do they charge the full amount still or take off what you've paid?

If you spend after the statement was Made have they charged the full balance on the due date of that statement even tho it's a different amount?

I don’t have an Asda card but most credit cards work the same way.

if your statement says the balance is £500 and then you spend another £1000 the next day the payment the credit card company will take from your account is £500.

The DD payment has to be requested a day or two (or three) before payment is taken from your account. So if your statement says you owe £500 and they are taking the payment in two weeks, if you pay an amount before the two weeks is up the £500 payment would be reduced. Ie if you paid £100 they Would take a £400 payment. If you paid the £500 right before the due date they might still take £500 if they’d already requested the add of £500.
