Tax credits overpayment- pay back via DWP?

We have quite a big overpayment with tax credits. I'm not quite sure how it has happened, it seems it is over several years. They seem to be taking a little back each year.

I posted earlier and got some great advice about the swap to UC when it happens next year.

However just in case we don't qualify for UC for any reason does anyone know if I could pay back this overpayment to DWP via my PIP or cont based ESA benefits?

I mean I guess overwise they will do some kind of plan where we pay some each month.

DH is really worried over it.

Sorry finished post too soon.

DH is really worried over it saying things like you don't mess with HMRC, he also worries over tax returns etc as well.

This is the sort of thing that CAB or an advice charity can help you with.
