Erudio Student Loan end of term

Can anyone tell me what happens after the 25 loan period ends. I tried to login to the website today to see if my balance had reduced to zero and it said my email or password was incorrect. Thing is though I logged in a week ago and the details are saved on my phone. I think it might be because I have passed the 25 years since my last loan was taken out but I expected to be able to login to check this.
Does anyone know if Erudio will send out a confirmation that my loans have been written off?

I got a letter.

I did write to them a few months earlier just to check it would be written off on my birthday and they confirmed it would.

Did you only have the one loan? I think it’s the date for your last loan (assuming you also took one out in 97).

last loan in 2002 unfortunately

I think it’s 25 years from the exact date you took your last loan. All loans stay active until then.
Nice to know I will get a letter, it’s weird not being able to login and see the balance after 25 years.

I had a letter recently telling me I was no longer liable for the debt. It was a nice surprise because it's difficult to find information anywhere about if or when the debts will be wiped.

If anyone needs to check the terms and conditions for the loans they took out in 1996, click here: The Education (Student Loans) Regulations 1996

The link is for 1996 as this is the first loan I took out, but they also have copies of other Student Loan contracts for the UK. This may help you to clear up a few points.

I would like to know what the Erudio letter looked like as my loan period is ending in 2024.

The Education (Student Loans) Regulations 1996

These Regulations, which come into force on 1st August 1996, supersede the Education (Student Loans) Regulations 1994 which are revoked (regulation 2).

My last loan was in 1998 and I've just received a letter saying they've been written off.
