Sky Social Tarrif - not available anymore

Can anyone advise?
I have been with Sky since 2016 and am a VIP member but currently not in contract. Mostly because I haven't had the sense or energy to switch. Every time I try, they try to lock me in to a further contract and I just lose the will to live with all the negotiations as invariably it ends up being MORE expensive!!! I am a single parent on Universal Credit and have tried to switch to their Social Tariff a number of times. Today they have told me they are not offering this anymore, try again in 2 weeks, "I can give you a new contract for £36"... Is this even legal? Then I just called back and now its £32 but apparently even though locked in for 18 months the price can and will still go up in April when they're all going up!!!! Where can I go for help on this?
Thank you.

What is your contract for ? Tv plus internet or just internet ?
If it's just internet BT still appear to have a £15 a month option

When I wanted to cancel Sky I told them I was emigrating. It wasn’t true, meant they didn’t try to talk me into staying.

I appreciate that’s only helpful if you want to cancel completely though

its got tv in it too but thats only £5 (an offer) so im paying way over for basic broadband, they're driving me nuts.

“ "I can give you a new contract for £36"... Is this even legal”

Why wouldn’t it be legal for a commercial business to offer you a contract?

What help do you need? You could use a price comparison website and look at whether you should ditch Sky.

I think virgin media still do a social tariff

I just googled Sky Social Tariff and nothing on the website says it’s not available. So if it’s what you want, I expect you need to stay firm on the phone - say no to alternatives, and when they say not available for 2 weeks, tell them that’s not what their website says. But that’s just broadband - did you want to keep SkyTV?
