Quick question - I've already spoken to HMRC once this morning and it took me 45mins to get through so I'm trying to avoid calling again!
Had to call them earlier today as I received a rebate for 21-22 which apparently they miscalculated and I now owe them. My tax should be easy as I am SAHM but get the occasional payment from a trust. Payments are taxed automatically but I should always get rebated the same amount I paid in tax as it's only a couple of grand a year max and there is no other income so way under the threshold.
Logged onto the HMRC to pay but looking at last year (not the one I was calling about) it says I paid £400 20-21. Would it still show that I've paid that amount if it was rebated? I've looked through my statements and I'm fairly certain it wasn't paid back but my banking app is crap so I could be mistaken. Basically just wondering if it was rebated would my online HMRC still say it was paid by me or should it be at 0 because it was paid then rebated?
Hopefully this makes sense, I just don't want to waste another 45mins listening to their shit hold music!
