PPI claim rejected in 2019, now found proof

Is there any hope? I sent in a couple of claims directly with my bank before the 2019 deadline, but unfortunately could find no paperwork as proof so my claim was denied.
This weekend I've been sorting out old boxes of junk and found a credit card statement from 1997 which clearly shows I was paying for card protection (which I didn't ask for).
Because I put a claim in before the deadline, is there any way can go back with the newly found evidence to revisit my claim? I'm not holding out much hope, but you never know... I thought someone here might know a way.
