Feeling a bit sick
We had a meeting with a mortgage advisor last Friday. We have had a mortgage with Barclays for years on a brilliant tracker, but just need some certainty with the way things are going. He presented a few options and told us that as long as we confirmed by Monday, we could go with either Option A, B or C. He explained that we'd have to o a ew forms and he'd call us as soon as we'd decided.
We replied first thing on Monday morning with Option A (by email using his direct email address).
We followed up on Tuesday with another email and a voicemail
We tried calling Branch and Mortgage advisory number but waited for over an hour without anyone picking up.
Called his mobile twice yesterday
Today the mortgage rate he offered has almost doubled and we have no idea if he has locked us in. We can't get hold of him or anyone at branch. The general number had us on hold for 75 minutes at which point we had to ring off as we both work.
Can anyone let me know if Barclays would be able to honour this offer if the employee turns out to be a fuckwit who has gone on holiday/got the sack before following through on our mortgage switch as promised?
We are panicking.
