Broker mortgage rates

I wondered if anyone has any idea how much better mortgage broker rates are than those I could readily find online?

Fix is up soon and I have found rates ranging from 3.9-4.9% for a 3 year fix.

Are brokers likely to find better deals than this?

Not necessarily. We found a better rate directly, but it's worth trying to see what they can get for you.

FWIW I think brokers have a pretty good idea of which deals are going to be pulled imminently…

Thanks @Callisto1 how did you find it directly? Was it with your previous lender? Current lender doesn't appear to do preferential rates for existing customers.

That's interesting @GiantKitten. Thanks. It's all so stressful 🤯

We did an online comparison and First Direct came out best. The broker, think it was London and Country, couldn't find anything better so we applied directly and were eventually accepted.

But that was 6 years ago when things were less crazy. When we came to remortgage last year I wish we'd gone with a broker because I kept applying for AIP only for the rate to be pulled before we could get an appointment.

I found a better one myself too. That was 3.5 years ago.
