How to help rebuild credit rating during DMP

I am half way through a DMP. It is unlikely that the debt will be paid off by the end but I will plod on. My credit rating (once excellent, now not so due to DMP) is slowly improving and I know that at the end of 6 yrs the defaults will drop off. What can I do to start improving my credit rating now? I know you can get those credit builder cards, but I don't know if they're worth the hassle or whether they'll actually make no difference at all?

Sign up to clearscore and they will give you some ideas as to what will help your score / they call it insights I think, things like making sure you are on the electoral register etc, not using too much of the credit available to you etc.

You can get a credit card and just put someone small on it a month and pay it off in full every month.

I think the biggest help to your rating will be when your defaults drop off but in the meantime keep up small habits like keeping a card for small purchases and paying off in full
