I am due an upgrade and going for an iPhone ( not the newest one), with the new iPhone 14 coming out on 16th September, does anyone know if the older iPhone pay monthly plans will be discounted? Considering the new iPhone will be out? Wondering if it's worth waiting for a few days in case I can upgrade for a better cost! If anyone has any insight please do let Me know 😋

Always buy a phone outright and then get a dairy cheap monthly contract! I bought a refurb iPhone on music magpie for example for 200£ and only pay 10£ a month for my sim only contract!

how much do you pay now??

I would do that but I have a friend and family discount of 30% which is quite significant! I have the iPhone 11 Pro, and looking to get one of the iPhone 13 models. What do you get with the £10 sim only? X

It's not always cheaper to buy a phone outright and then a contract. Have a look in mse they have a good section on phones and phone contracts.

Look also on Hotukdeals though if you have 30% discount it sounds like you will have to stay with the same supplier to get this

Of course if your current iPhone is perfectly fine then the cheapest thing to do is to keep it and get sim only monthly contract with whoever is cheapest for

Thank you all for the advice which is great, but I really was wondering if anyone knows whether the deals get cheaper as new phones come out!

Although I am also interested in sim only- what are the best deals out there for unlimited calls plus 100gb data (or similar)?

It's not just about the deals; which providers have the best signal where you are? E.g. we can only get signal in our house with O2 and Vodafone, so we either need to go with them or make sure we go with a provider which allows WiFi calling.

I'm on voxi sim only. These are the deals at the moment.

It's part of vodafone

The deals do drop in price, but it does depend.
Sometimes the previous model holds its price for longer and sometimes they drop quickly.

Buying early could mean you see the price drop, but if you hold out then the worst case is you pay the same price and the best case is you save some money

Thank you so much everyone for your advice
I'll consider all options :)
