Missed credit card payment

I am so annoyed at myself, I've potentially missed a credit card payment. Balance about £300 due today which I paid in full via online banking on Saturday (after 5pm). Checked this morning and the pending transaction isn't due to come out of my bank until tomorrow. My current account and credit card are with different banks. I assume this is to do with the bank holiday which I completely forgot about as it isn't a bank holiday in my region. Is there anything I can do? We're in the process of moving house and getting a mortgage etc so I really do not need any black marks on my credit rating. Is there any way of transferring money instantly if I contact the credit card provider, and what are the likely repercussions if not? I'm going to call them ASAP but hoping someone can advise in the meantime.

I've never missed a payment before and have a good credit rating. I really thought I was paying it in time but have dropped the ball here.

Phone them they may take debit card payment.

I don’t think it will impact your credit rating. You would be very unlucky if your credit card provider would be reporting their every 28 days or once a month to credit agencies tomorrow and your payment hadn’t cleared.

You get a few days grace anyway, usuay a late payment isn't marked until the write to you and charge the late payment fee.

I would phone your provider to explain the situation, and also follow up with an email to them where you can include a screenshot of your payment, as proof you made it on time (always good to have things in writing). Good luck!

Thought I'd update in case it helps anyone else in future. I contacted the bank (M&S) via online chat and they've confirmed that, although it can take two working days to clear, the system records when the payment was made so I'm absolutely fine! Also apparently I've previously set up a DD to pay the minimum to avoid making mistakes like this. Phew! Thanks all for your reassurance.
