Anyone know of a savings account like this?

Afternoon all

A savings account or app where I can transfer small amounts of money over to it when I have it spare (literally a couple quid or pence) but not access it for a certain amount of time so it can accumulate nicely.

I'm really bad with saving and when I have transferred over a nice amount I always dip into it for essentials or emergencies hence me never having a good savings record.

Does anyone know of anything like this?

I did try moneybox but it would take £5 a week out and I can't afford that

I think you might want Revolut Vaults. I know people who use them to gradually aquire bitcoin, but I think they have fiat options as well.

Try the Plum App, it will round up for you and take amounts depending on how your bank balance and upcoming direct debits etc look. You can transfer as much as you want back instantly or move it to a separate savings account

@Cailleachian @Sluj
Thanks so much. I will look into those

Santander has a savings account like this 12 months. It’s paying 2.5%.

Chase has a round up account paying 5% interest that runs alongside their current account. No fees, all on an app and gives you cashback. You

Halifax offer the functionality to save the change on each transaction to another account or whatever amounts you manually send over.

Moneybox - just turn the weekly deposit off.

Neilsfavouritechilli · 28/08/2022 21:23

Chip is good for this.

I love my plum app! I have saved 150 over the last few months and I didn’t even realise

stopitleaveitgetdown · 28/08/2022 21:35

@GetOffTheRoof oh gosh I didn't even know you could do that 😫
Thank you

I use Monzo to build up Christmas shopping pot using odds n sods. Really easy to manage too

I just have a Virgin savings account that runs alongside my Virgin current account & I move cash in to it until I need it.

@GetOffTheRoof I just tried to move over £1.21 with Moneybox and it won't let me. Only wants £1 or £2 and above.

I've downloaded and set up with Chip which let me put my little change in a 90- day notice account which is exactly what I wanted! So thank you @Neilsfavouritechilli

And thanks to everyone else for their suggestions 😊

Brilliant, I use the autosave feature and have accumulated a nice little savings pot.
