UC appointments may conflict with holiday (read first)

Have NC'd but HQ can check, I've been here for years.

Long story short is I lost my job and trying to find a new one but with my commitments, it's not as easy but I still try and need the money etc. I've two children in school and I'm on the highest commitment level (I think), including one or two phone calls a week. My work coach isn't pleasant and I dread my phone calls with her. I'm not bashing work coaches, most of the ones I've encountered have been very helpful.

However, it's my 25th birthday soon and as my gift, I'm going to be treated to a long weekend (Friday-Monday) in a European country. No set date yet but will be about a week's notice I think. Anyway, I'm worried if the dates are on a day I'm meant to have a phone appointment. I don't get given a week's notice for an appointment (ie I have one for tomorrow that she booked in today), usually have twoish days notice. I need access to internet sometimes as sometimes they're face calls. What do I do if she books one in when I'm away or for when I'm away? Can I say I'm not in the country when I'm in the highest commitment category?

I think you will need to notify your work coach in advance of any dates out of the country and keep to your commitments. Perhaps you would enjoy your holiday more if you found a job first. How long have you been unemployed?

What a daft response Hmm

Let them know OP, you’re allowed a weekend away

Just attend appointment from abroad, all European cities have excellent wi-fi

Either take the call from abroad, or lie. Put a note on your journal to say you've got your head down the toilet and can't possibly take the call. As long as it's a one off and you're meeting all your other commitments I can't see that they would sanction you just for one missed appointment.
