Is Utility Warehouse worth it? Wanting to switch energy suppliers

I've searched but can't find anything recent talking about energy suppliers - or Utility Warehouse in particular (please point me in the right direction if I've missed it though!)

I've seen a few pieces by Martin Lewis and other stuff online about the differences between some of the suppliers, and it has got me thinking about moving on from British Gas (who I think are one of the most expensive by the looks of things). Does anyone use Utility Warehouse? Or switched recently? Is it that much cheaper? Is service etc. good?

I do think we should move before the higher costs really start to bite but don't want to make the wrong decision. At least we know British Gas, warts and all - whereas I have no experience of Utility Warehouse, I wasn't even aware they were a brand/business until the other week! Any help/insights would be appreciated 🙂

I think they’re a bit of an MLM style outfit? Not the most reputable.

Anyway you won’t get anywhere with prices below the price cap at the moment and nobody has a fix worth moving to so there’s no point moving suppliers right now.

You cant just change the gas/electricity with UW to get the good price, you need to take one or more of their other products too.

There are no good fixes and the standard variable rate is very similar across all the energy companies

We’ve been with Utility Warehouse for years. We don’t do the selling, we are just a regular customer. Have gas, electric, internet and mobile with them. Been very happy. The advantage is the cash back card which takes money off the bill. Customer service has always been good.

We wouldn't touch them, they are very much an MLM and lie to people about what they will be able to earn selling their products.

Thing is, you don’t have to get involved in the selling. We aren’t. We just use the services and have been happy customers for years.

Absolutely, if you are happy supporting a MLM, go for it. Fortunately there are loads of other options out there too for people that don't want to give money to that sort of organisation.
