Am I doing something wrong? My gas and electric bill seems off

Im with SSE Topped up £40 pounds gas and electricity so £20 on each on 25th of June.. And I still have £10 left on my balance
This is my first time living away from home so just wondering if this is normal
I live alone in a one bed flat

Probably sound right to me.. the pay as you go meters are just that. Won’t work unless have credit so I take it as there are taking money they are fine

This is the time of year when people in the U.K. use least power - no need for heating, no need for electric lighting through the evenings, less cooked food

It would be weirder if your costs weren’t minimal right now. Make sure you budget a lot more for the winter months!

It might be worth while topping up your meter each week with £10, ready for the winter months

that way your budget will be more equally spread out through the hit summer and cold winter

We have a prepayment metre and are only using small amounts, and we have a 3 bed house. Top up as much as you can,you'll need it in a couple of months.
