So confused I was on a single claim with UC for 2 years had my last single payment on the 7th May! But switched to a joint claim on the 10th still the same assessment period off 1st - 31st of every month but now I’m so unsure if I’m eligible since it’s wiped my whole single claim and now I’m left with the last two payment of our joint claim.

Can anyone at all make sense of this and know if I may / can still get it. We both work I just work part time so we basically get our rent that’s it.

I still got a payment in that assessment period right.

cost of living has totally messed with us. So behind already and with the school holidays really could do with it or would not be able to do anything with the kids.

thank you. 🥰

To get the first Cost of Living Payment of £326, you must have been entitled to a payment (or later found to be entitled to a payment) of Universal Credit for an assessment period that ended in the period 26 April 2022 to 25 May 2022.

You received a payment plus you change of circumstances happened within the assessment period so you should be entitled to the £326.

I was confused too and think I have just missed out. I put in a claim on 6th May so my first assessment period ended the 5th June, annoying to have missed it by around 11 days but will get the next half at least. At first I had read if you put in a claim by the 25th that is later approved but this was from a news article and not the gov website.

You may get it if you qualified during that AP, it shouldn't cancel it out if you were eligible but nobody knows the exact dates so best to just wait and see
