WhatsApp scam targeting parents

I have 6 children and never speak to them on WhatsApp-always on fb or insta (dunno why-it’s just how we roll)

anyway,I once got a message on WhatsApp
scammer-‘hi mum,it’s your favourite child’ (could any of them-they all know I don’t have a favourite but it is just how my pfb talks)
me-‘ok…’
Scammer-’my phones broken,I can’t get into my online banking and I need 1k-I’ll send you the details’
me-‘ok darling-prove it’s you’ (still unclear which child it was) ‘name your siblings,in order, don’t forget their middle names and ages, and I’ll get dp to send it for you’

never heard another word…

I did get another one about 4 months later starting with ‘hi dad,I’ve lost my phone…’
i just told them they had the wrong number-I can’t be their dad as I’m missing a penis but nice try (I think they went 50/50 as my profile picture is of myself and dp)

they messaged back to tell me that I really was their dad and they needed money!

I definitely can’t be anyones dad,as I keep checking but still haven’t grown man parts

That's made me laugh so much. I like the thought that the scammers didn't get any money but you're doing a pants check each morning Grin
