I know a did a thread almost identical to this at the start of December - and I've just read through it (3 times) to try and work out how to do it on my own - but I'm now even more confused than when I started .

£12,182-£13,253 pa prorata (based on a 37.5hr week)

10 Hours/Week

how much a week would I actually earn????

oh - and if could explain it in simple a step by step guide (the sort that my DS1 who's 7 could understand) so that I can learn to do it on my own and stop cluttering up this board with my posts that would be lovely

I always take the lowest figure, so £12182 divided by 52 weeks and then divided by 37.5 to give me the hourly rate and then i times the hourly rate by the number of hours i'd be doing. So with your figures it would work out to £62.40.

I am not saying this is correct by the way, it's just what I do when I am trying to figure it out.

Will be so now if someone comes on and says 'erm nutcracker, that is total rubbish' LOL.

strawberry · 15/01/2008 16:20

Agree £62.47

ScoobyDoo · 15/01/2008 16:21

Erm nutcracker tha is total rubbish!

Twiglett · 15/01/2008 16:21

12,182/37.5 = £32.32

then x 10 = £323.20 per week

ScoobyDoo · 15/01/2008 16:21

oop's forgot the

FarcicalAlienQueen · 15/01/2008 16:22

thank you

hmmm - may be doable......bit less that what I really need - but would finish early enough to allow DH to leave for work early and therefore get more sales in......

Take the salary divide by 37.5 and then multipy by the hours per week

ie £13000/37.5 x 10 = £3466.67 per year
(or £6.67 per hour)

nutcracker · 15/01/2008 16:22

LOL

nutcracker · 15/01/2008 16:23

I'm stunned that i was right. I nearly didn't post incase I was wrong.

Twiglett · 15/01/2008 16:23

ROFL

buggered that up didn't I?

OK I meant

12,182/52 (weeks) = £234.27

£234.27 / 37.5 (hours) = £6.25 per hour

£6.25 x 10 = £62.50

Lauriefairycake · 15/01/2008 16:25

And its under the taxable allowance so you wont have to pay tax (but will NI, I think) so £62 is actually what you will get to take home.
