What is the best life insurance

41, heading towards being a single parent and no life insurance.
3 children under 6, work 30 hours a week
Life insurance seems like a mind field.
What are the best options out there?

If you literally mean life insurance then they are quite simple. If you mean protection for your family should you get a critical illness, have a period of time out of work, then yes that is more complicated, I would recommend speaking to a broker who will talk through your situation and requirements and recommend the best product (s) for you. Obviously budget will be a major consideration.

You should also consider a Will. Well done for getting organised so many people don't, currently having issues with my mum who thinks talking about death should be avoided at all costs!

  1. what amount of mortgage would still be left if you died or couldn’t work?
  2. what other costs would need meeting for your children to be raised and cared for?
  3. does your workplace pension come with any life insurance or death in service benefits?
all this determines the level of cover you need.

Maybe speak to a broker. They are so helpful and sorted a lot of it out for us.
