Hey,

i have just started a little evening job since being made redundant on maternity leave last year. It’s only £400 a month but have been offered another job which would make it just over £800. Do I get taxed on this ? Trying to figure out if it’s worth me taking the second job on or not.

conflicting information online

thanks

You can earn £12,570 per year before you get taxed: www.gov.uk/income-tax-rates

Do you mean that you would have 2 jobs and the pay between both would total £800. If so - get HMRC to split your tax free allowance between the two jobs (so £6285 each)

You can earn £241 a week al year round before being taxed

Or £1047 a month

so at 800 a month no uou wouidnt pay any tax but if payg they may deduct but you would bet a tax rebate in April

or maybe if you tell hmcr only earn £800 a month

nic? you have to pay that

Not if only earning £4k on each job as it’s below the NIC threshold.
