We aren't able to go on holiday as planned this week as our kids have come up with chicken pox.

We have insurance and I've got medical certification and have tried to contact the insurer, but can't reach them/had to put claim through on a web form.

Really silly question but do I have to actually cancel the flights? I called easyJet and they were quite aggressive about just cancelling the kids flights and my husband and i going Hmm, then they offered to move the flights which double the cost and we have no accommodation etc. They said if we cancel we will get no money back apart from airport tax, but the claim I've put in for is the whole amount of the flights. I can't edit or amend the insurance claim now can I?

Yes cancel flights and reclaim the tax. Insurers expect you to mitigate the value of the claim.

Insurers expect to see cancellation invoices for every part of the holiday
