I would consider trying about 10k in the stock market

SteakExpectations · 29/03/2022 22:23

I’d make my house nice and buy a property to rent out and use the income towards my rent and use what I’d save to pay for holidays.

SunnydaleHSAlumna · 29/03/2022 22:27

Pay off my mortgage, pay off my car, that would leave £80k. I then I’d save some and give some away.

FairyLightPups · 29/03/2022 22:28

Finally buy a house!

KohlaParasaurus · 29/03/2022 22:35

Enthusiastically and with the biggest smile on my face Grin

I'd take a year off work and go on lots of holidays now that we can go places again. I reckon I could tear through £180,000 without much difficulty. Or I could give a chunk to a couple of local charities and start dripping the rest into a pension for each of my young adult children and stepchildren. Decisions, decisions.

Sell my flat and combine the money to buy a house.

Madre123 · 29/03/2022 22:42

Pay off mortgage...buy a camper van and travel

soootiredddd · 29/03/2022 23:04

@Hawkins001 I read that as “80k in savings for electricity and gas” and though “blimey, someone’s gong to be well prepared for the rise in energy prices” 😂

Cherrysherbet · 29/03/2022 23:07

Save 30k each for my 3 children and spend the rest on doing my house up.

Bunnycat101 · 29/03/2022 23:54

Either extension or combo of pension, investments and mortgage overpayment like everyone else.

mycatisannoying · 29/03/2022 23:55

Amongst other things, a tummy tuck and a luxury holiday.

RewildingAmbridge · 29/03/2022 23:55

New kitchen, loft extension, school fees (prep only)

Yea, gas, electric and rent,

IwaswhoIam · 30/03/2022 20:32

Finish the upstairs renovations , buy a camper van , fix up our backyard (which is a complete disaster) ….and put the rest in savings !

NewbieDivergent · 30/03/2022 20:41

Buy my very first house at close to 50 and not have to share room with child cos cant effort bigger rental property and stop living on tenterhooks everytime landlord murmurs about selling up

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 30/03/2022 20:45

Pay mortgage off/use towards buying a bigger house and still have a small mortgage.
Pay the car off and use the rest as a buffer so dh can quit his job and retrain without us needing to worry about how we'll pay the bills.

sophienelisse · 30/03/2022 20:45

Pay my mortgage off. Start my own florist and not panic if it failed.

Kitkat151 · 30/03/2022 20:52

Give my kids 30k each ....long haul holiday....camper van....the rest into savings

NeedleNoodle3 · 30/03/2022 21:53

I paid 33% towards a property for my DC and have saved the rest to help my other DC when they are older. I don’t need anything for myself.
