Can u get child benefit for third child?

Sorry I've googled but I'm confused. Can u get child benefit for third child? Born last year. We earn under 50k. Thank you!!

Yes child benefit can be claimed for a 3rd child. As others have pointed out the cap applies to tax credits and universal credit.

It's also worth noting that if you claim universal credit and rent privately (sorry OP I don't know your current circumstances) you will have a 3-bed need and will receive more LHA support as a result. You won't be able to claim for the child element due to the 2 child cap

Yes, I used to get child benefit for 5, two born after the date of the cap. Now I get it for 4 because my eldest is too old. It's only tax credits/universal credit that is capped at 2.

Yes you can get child benefit I get it for all 3 of mine and one was born in November last year. It's other benefits that have the 2 child cap.

Please dont listen to most people on this thread, I have 4 chidren between 3 and 16 years old and get child benefit for all 4 of them
