What am I best of doing?

I'd personally stay on the variable and see how things pan out.

There's an argument things are likely to go up 47% or so in October and it might be better to fix if you can get something less than 25% over the April increase. We looked, currently paying 2000 a year and the cheapest one year fix is 3500. We're not fixing. I think the government will have to do something. People simply won't be able to pay and we'll see hospitality hard hit, along with many other 'luxury' sectors. If the government don't act there will be many go to the wall before we do.
