I usually get it paid in on Thursdays but did not have any last Thursday and do not have any today either. Both these Thursdays were normal working days I think, so before i call them up raving like a banshee, have I missed something?
Do they save it up then give you 2 lots in one go for new year or something?
Thing is, we rely on it and last week didn'thave any bread or milk because of it and now DH has limped the car to work, expecting the monay to be there at the cash point so he can get home and nothing.

no they normally pay it early. (at least mine were) have you had any notices to change at all?

nutcracker · 03/01/2008 13:26

Are you sure that they didn't go in early and you spent it ???

Mine goes in on a Wednesday but xmas weeks one was paid on the Friday before, and the following weeks was also paid on the Friday before.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 03/01/2008 13:29

I don't think we have spent it.
I will quickly ring the bank to check...
Hope not....

ours normally goes in on a tuesday and ended up going in early both times in the past couple of weeks.

VictorianSqualor · 03/01/2008 13:39

DP normally gets the WFTC around the 6/7th of the month but for some reason it was in on 28th dec for this month.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 03/01/2008 13:43

buggeration, we have spent it! On the water, tv licence and electric.

I take it he needs petrol for the car to get home? Could he not borrow a little off a work colleague just to put enough in the tank to get him home??

nutcracker · 03/01/2008 13:50

Oh no

LadyOfTheFlowers · 03/01/2008 13:50

its not walking distance, no, sadly.
it is about 5 miles away, 'tother side of town.
hopefully dad will have the cash.

Did it turn up on Christmas eve? because mine usually comes on a Thursday, and turned up Christmas Eve. I don't know if todays has gone in though - I will check later.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 03/01/2008 13:52

i will ring him and ask how empty 'empty' means.
he will have to borrow if it really is empty.

I think they should notify us when it is going in, it is so easy to muck everything up otherwise.

Surley they could stick a note on the tax credits home page just so we'd know.

Luckily I checked mine every single day so I spotted when it went in. Then I had to try and forget i'd been paid so that I didn't spend it and end up with nothing.

colditz · 03/01/2008 13:54

Oh, looks like you have solved the mystery also I just realised mine has probably ALREADY gone in, and that means I've spent it.

It's a pain being on the skin of your arse, isn't it!

colditz · 03/01/2008 13:55

I had my child benefit, income support and CTC go in all on Christmas eve, so got myself into a right muddle trying to sort out when was which.

DavidTennantsMistress · 03/01/2008 13:59

i'm with you nutty I rang them to ask when I'd be paid as then I know where I am with what i've got and what needs paying etc etc.

fingers crossed he can get home tonight.

nutcracker · 03/01/2008 13:59

Yep me too Colditz. I logged in and out of online banking that many times trying to figure out which payment was for when, and exactly what I could and couldn't spend.

Roll on next week when it should all go back to normal.

nutcracker · 03/01/2008 13:59

I had been told that my tax credits would go in on the Monday but both times they went in on Friday

DavidTennantsMistress · 03/01/2008 14:01

i'll second that (well it will be first lot on sat for me)

scorpio1 · 03/01/2008 14:01

i got mine early, inc CB. i was in a right kerfuffle sorting out what was for what!
