Strange credit search on file

I checked my credit file today and noticed that a company called Cashplus ran a soft credit search on my file last week.

I haven't authorised any and have no idea what it's for. I've emailed them to ask but anyone got any clues?

They've run it one for me and one for DH Confused

My understanding - which might be wrong - is they don't need permission to do this, which I think is nuts.

So maybe a pre approved card offer is coming your way?

What about your husband?

AdaShelby · 09/02/2022 21:23

DH was the one who first noticed it so it's not him. Hopefully they'll get back to me tomorrow.

That would be outrageous! Surely not.

This site suggests the same

Even employers can do it apparently!
