On the 17th of november I reported to Uc that I no longer receive Carers allowance as I earn to much per week. But i have noticed they have still deducted the £292 from my December and January Uc payments. Is this correct?

I would ring carers allowance directly to check that the claim has been properly closed. If you have not been receiving carers allowance since November then it should not still be being deducted. You can still get the Uc carers element though even if working as long as you are still providing 35 hours of care.

Thanks for clarifying, i do still provide the care i just not longer get the carers allowance. Do you think il get that money back they have taken incorrectly? Considering i notified them straight away

You will get it back if it's been incorrectly deducted.
Have you queried it on your journal?

It is often because carers allowance haven't closed down the claim fully so it wont show to UC. It's best to ring carers allowance, I had to do this for someone I was helping.

Thanks, @Babyroobs - I appreciate your advice.

I have queried it on my journal today, so will wait and see what they say

Just a wee update, i had a reply on the journal saying that carers still had me down for an entitlement, but its now been closed this months UC payment hasnt had the £292 taken off. But i have noticed my statement for Nov and Dec have gone up by £292 but I havent had that money so I'm not sure whats happening there, unless they are planning on paying me it back

Yay. Glad they sorted it without too much quibbling.

Glad it seems to be sorted now. If you haven’t added it already, you can have the carer element on universal credit regardless of how much you earn.
